What Dex is

Dex describes itself as a personal relationship manager for individuals rather than sales teams. According to its website, it combines contacts from more than fifteen sources, including LinkedIn, email, calendar, WhatsApp, iMessage, Facebook, Instagram, your phone's contacts and CSV files, merges duplicates, and shows a timeline of meetings, calls, emails and messages for each person. It adds keep-in-touch reminders, notes, tags and custom fields, briefings before meetings, and updates when people in your network change jobs.

Dex runs on the web, iPhone, Android, macOS and Windows, with a Chrome extension, an API and an MCP server for AI agents. Its pricing page lists no free plan: paid plans start with Premium at $12 a month billed annually ($20 month to month), with Professional and Enterprise above it and a 7-day free trial.

If you network for work and want every LinkedIn connection, email thread and meeting in one searchable place, Dex is designed for that and is likely the better choice.

How Lorami works differently

Lorami does not sync accounts. It learns from what you say or type, which is where the personal details live anyway: nobody's LinkedIn profile says their daughter just learned to ride a bike.

You tell it a sentence like "my girlfriend's brother Dan just started at Klarna." Lorami adds Dan, links him to your girlfriend as her brother, and links him to Klarna. One sentence becomes linked people, without filling in a form. You review what it understood before anything is saved, and if a name could mean two different people, it asks which one you meant.

Reminders from dates you mention. "Leo's test is on the 20th" reminds you before the 20th. Birthdays repeat every year.
Answers from your notes. Ask "what does Sara like?" and get an answer built from what you saved.
To-dos and errands near you. "Pick up flowers" can nudge you near a florist (on Pro).
Drawn portraits. Turn a photo into a drawing for someone's page.

A useful way to think about it: Dex remembers your interactions. It knows when you last emailed someone, what meeting you had, and that it may be time to reach out again.
