What Mesh is

Mesh is the personal relationship manager that used to be called Clay. As described on its website, it builds your contact list for you by connecting to email, calendar, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, iMessage and more, then keeps each person's profile up to date with job changes, moves and news mentions. It offers search across your network, groups, reconnect reminders, birthday notifications and an AI assistant for questions about your relationships. It runs on the web, macOS, Windows, iPhone and Android.

Its pricing page lists a free Personal plan for up to 1,000 contacts, a Pro plan (shown at $10 a month on annual billing) with unlimited contacts, and Team and Enterprise plans. The site speaks mainly to founders, executives and teams who manage a large professional network.

If your goal is to stay on top of a big professional network, with contacts pulled in automatically from LinkedIn, your inbox and your calendar, Mesh is built for exactly that, and it is likely the better fit.

How Lorami works differently

Lorami does not import anyone. It knows the people you tell it about, and what you tell it is the point. You say or type a sentence the way you would to a friend: "My girlfriend's brother Dan just started at Klarna." Lorami works out that Dan is a new person, that he is your girlfriend's brother, and that he works at Klarna. One sentence becomes linked people, placed on a map of the people in your life.

You see what it understood before anything is saved, and you can fix a name or a link in the preview. If a name could mean two people, it asks which one you mean.

• Reminders from what was said. "Leo has a test on the 20th" becomes a reminder before the 20th. Birthdays repeat every year.
• Ask anything. "What does Sara like?" or "when is Leo's test?" gets an answer from your own notes.
• To-dos and errands. "Buy ibuprofen" can nudge you when you are near a pharmacy (on Pro).
• Drawn portraits. Turn a photo into a drawing for someone's page, or crop the photo itself.

Lorami works in the browser today; iPhone and Android apps are on the way. The Free plan keeps reminders, search, your map and export free forever, with a small monthly AI allowance. Pro is $10.00 a month billed yearly ($119.99), or $14.99 month to month, and every new account starts with 7 days of Pro without a card.

The difference in one example

Say a colleague mentions over lunch that her son starts school next week and that she is training for a half marathon in April. Mesh may already know her job title and where she lives, because it read them from her profiles. It will not know about her son or the race unless you add them yourself.

In Lorami you would say it on the way back to your desk. Her son is added and linked to her, the school start gets a reminder, and the race is filed under her. Next time you see her, asking "how is the training going?" takes one glance.

Which should you choose?

Choose Mesh if most of the people you want to keep track of are professional contacts, you want their profiles filled in and kept current automatically, and you want native desktop apps and team features today.

Choose Lorami if the things you forget are the personal ones: a friend's exam, a partner's sister's name, what someone cannot eat, the gift they mentioned months ago. It suits friends and family more than a sales pipeline, and it only needs a sentence to get started.

They also work well together. Plenty of people could keep a synced professional network in Mesh and use Lorami for the details people share in conversation.
